Manchester United reportedly withdrew from a sensational deal to sign Gareth Bale this summer over concerns on his injury record.
According to reports in UK newspaper the Daily Mirror, the Red Devils were in pole position to sign the Welsh international on a season long loan deal ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
However, according to the report, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side pulled out of the deal amid concerns over the former Tottenham man's ability to complete a full season due to his injury record.
That indecision derailed the move, with United not happy with paying Bale's reported £500,000 per week wages, if he was to miss a portion of the season due to injury.
The Premier League side are unlikely to revisit the potential of signing Bale in the near future, with both the player and Real Madrid, unlikely to accept a pay-as-you-play deal for the 30-year old.
Bale was told my manager Zinedine Zidane that he was surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu, however after moves to both China and England collapsed, he has remained at the club.
