Manchester United prepare Paul Pogba contract extension

Manchester United are intent on renewing Paul Pogba’s contract at the club to ward off interest from Real Madrid, according to reports.

United rejected all approaches for the player this summer and are said to value Pogba at €165m (£150m) which Madrid were not be able to finance.

The French international’s contract at Old Trafford expires in June 2021 and with less than two years remaining, it is now entering a critical stage.

Pogba could leave for free that summer or his transfer valuation could be significantly reduced next summer if a new agreement has still not been reached.

El Mundo Deportivo cite a report in the Evening standard that the central midfielder is next on United’s list following contract renewals for David De Gea and Victor Lindelof.

The report adds that teenage attacking star Mason Greenwood and midfielder Jesse Lingard are also on the list up for contract renewals at the Red Devils.
