Valencia boss Albert Celades: Judge me on results

New Valencia boss Albert Celades has insisted that his spell at the club will be judged on results and nothing else.

The new tactician turns 44 later this month and it is his first major management role after being Coach of the Spain Under-16, Under-17 and Under-21 sides.

He had been working on the Real Madrid staff from August-October 2018 with Julen Lopetegui, but has been out of work since.

Los Che made the shock decision to sack Marcelino after two years in charge at the Mestalla, despite winning the Copa del Rey and recording successive finishes in the top four.

“In the end, Coaches know that what will save us are the results,” Celades has said, as cited by Cadena Cope.

“What a Coach tries is to play the players who are going to help him win and that is what we are going to do.”

Celades will be immediately under pressure due to the popularity and successes of his outgoing successor, with this his first major job at top-level management.
