FC Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is set to miss the next four weeks of action through injury.
The Uruguayan international was withdrawn after 33 minutes in La Blaugrana's La Liga opening 1-0 defeat away at Athletic Bilbao after complaining of calf pain in the opening stages.
The club have now released an official statement, after consulting with their medical, stating that Suarez will undergo further test in the coming days.
They have not confirmed an expected recovery period for the 32-year old, however it has been widely reported that he will be sidelined until at least the first week of September.
Ernesto Valverde's side lost their first game of the season, as they prepare to defend their La LIga title, with games to come against Real Betis and newly promoted Osasuna, with Suarez set to miss out.
