Francesco Totti offered Real Madrid ambassador role

Real Madrid are reportedly considering offering Italian legend Francesco Totti an ambassadorial role at the club.

Totti, who are regularly linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu during his 24-year one club career with Serie A giants AS Roma, has been contacted by club president Florentino Perez, according to a report in Gazzetta dello Sport.

The former Italian international has revealed that he rejected Perez's advances twice as a player, following his retirement in 2017, leading to Perez remarking that he was the only player to turn down Real Madrid – in a 2015 interview.

Totti had been working as sporting director with AS Roma, since 2017, however he has now left that role – amid rumours of friction with CEO James Pallotta in recent months.

The Italian newspaper claims that he also has offers of similar roles with the Italian FA, Sampdoria and in club football in Qatar, but he is reported keen to remain in Europe.
