Former Real Betis midfielder Fabian Ruiz (pictured left) has been released from hospital after recovering from a health scare related to breathing problems.
The 22-year-old joined Napoli last summer in a €30m deal and his impressive displays this season led to a first senior international call-up for Spain’s Euro 2020 qualifiers against Norway and Malta.
However, the central midfielder had to withdraw from Luis Enrique’s squad due to suffering from the flu and subsequently having breathing difficulties.
It was confirmed on Thursday that he had been discharged following ‘a high fever and breathing problems’, and is expected to recover over the international break.
The former Los Verdiblancos midfielder has scored five goals in 28 appearances for the Partenopei this season.
Fabian was replaced in the Spain squad by Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.
