Real Madrid look to Porto’s Eder Militao for €50m

Real Madrid have made a ‘definitive decision’ to sign Porto central defender Eder Militao this year and are willing to activate his €50m release clause.

The 20-year-old, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, is said to have a €50m release clause which will increase in €75m in the middle of July.

The Brazilian only joined Porto this summer in a €4m deal from Sao Paulo and has featured in 22 matches for the club, who recently won 18 matches in a row in all competitions.

Militao is primarily a right-back but is equally comfortable playing in the centre of defence or in a deep-lying midfield role.

A Bola said the club have no intentions of selling the starlet this window and indeed say president Pinto da Costa has vowed they will improve his current deal.

However, Porto have now signed central defender Pepe – formerly of Madrid – meaning that a sale could now be possible.
