Bayern Munich ‘won’t talk’ about James Rodriguez signing

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge would not be drawn on whether the club would exercise their right to buy James Rodriguez from Real Madrid.

Reports earlier this week stated the Colombian was intent on leaving Bayern at the end of the season with his preference to return to Madrid.

The playmaker, formerly of Porto and Monaco, has fallen out of favour at the German champions where he is in the second season of a two-year long loan, with a €35m option for the Bavarians to sign him permanently.

“We have an agreement that there is an option we can activate until June 15 2019,” Rummenigge told German outlet sport1, as cited by ESPN.

“It's November now, and I don't think it's worth discussing this in November.

“We will eventually make a decision, but certainly not in the near future. And that's just not necessary given the date of the option we have.”
