Spain boss Luis Enrique has challenged his players to earn their place in the team and reiterated every position was up for grabs.
The former Barcelona Coach has guided La Roja to victories over England and Croatia but insists places in the team and squad are not guaranteed for anyone.
“Opportunities are there for those who perform well in training and in matches,” Enrique told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“We have only had one high-intensity training session but these are improving and the attitude from all the players has been important.
“The players must understand each game is hugely important, this is a process for us and every player must prove their worth to this side.
“This game (against Wales) may not carry any points towards our group but we cannot waste it, international teams do not get many chances.
“Gareth Bale’s absence? We have prepared to face them with Gareth in the side and obviously they will be impacted by that, but we will not change our approach.”
