Barca’s Alcacer nearing Watford move

Watford are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer this week, it has been reported in the ESPN FC.

The 24-year-old joined the Catalan giants on a five-year contract from Valencia in 2016 in a €30m deal but has struggled for game time since, scoring 15 times in 50 appearances.

Diario Sport has been among the publications in Spain linking the former Los Che man to Vicarage Road, where he would link up with former teammate Gerard Deulofeu – who made the switch in January.

Alcacer has fallen behind Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho in the pecking order at the Camp Nou, while Malcom has also arrived this summer.

The striker, who has netted six goals in 13 caps for his nation, has also been linked with Valencia and Real Betis this summer.
