Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong has requested his club sanction an exit to Barcelona this summer, according to reports in Spain.
The 21-year-old (pictured, right) registered seven assists from 22 Eredivisie appearances this term and has been linked with a switch to the Camp Nou for several months.
El Mundo Deportivo now report he wants to leave the Dutch club this summer and has cited Justin Kluivert’s move to Roma as being behind his desire for an exit.
The report states that the central midfielder is likely to cost the Blaugrana between €20-25m in a transfer fee, although Ajax will attempt to hold on to their star players this summer.
