Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has called on his club to attempt to bring Thiago Alcantara back to the club.
The 27-year-old, who joined the Bavarian club from Barcelona in the summer of 2013, is keen on a move away this summer according to the well-connected Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk.
“I would like to see Thiago at Barcelona,” Ter Stegen is cited as saying by Sport Bild, as cited by El Mundo Deportivo.
“His style of play would fit in with us because of learning his football here and he obviously has the quality at this level of football.
“Thiago is a fantastic player and would fit into our squad, I’m sure he would be open to a move back here and it would be special for us and for him if it happened.”
Arturo Vidal, Juan Bernat and Jerome Boateng are also said to be available for sale at the Bundesliga champions, who may look to freshen their squad this summer.
Thiago – whose brother Rafinha is currently on loan at Inter from the Blaugrana – has had an injury-disrupted five years in Germany, limiting him to just 67 league starts in that timeframe.
