Villarreal are keen on a deal to sign out-of-favour Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Yellow Submarine captain Bruno has been unavailable due to injury for most of the season while highly-rated midfielder Rodri is reportedly set to join Atletico Madrid this summer.
The 29-year-old arrived in Serie A last summer from Olympique Lyonnais for €5m, but his performances have been underwhelming.
Gonalons played over 334 times for Lyon, whom he captained, while he also won seven caps for the French national team.
Roma are said to be willing to recoup their transfer losses, according to Marca, allowing Villarreal to swoop for the player who fits their profile.
