Zidane: Madrid ready for PSG

Zinedine Zidane believes Real Madrid showed during their 3-1 win against Getafe that “we’re ready” for Paris Saint-Germain.

Gareth Bale’s opener and a Cristiano Ronaldo brace not only put Madrid’s midweek defeat to Espanyol behind them but also ensured Los Blancos prepared for their Champions League last-16 second leg in Paris on a victorious note.

“It was best that we arrived for Tuesday having won,” the Coach said after the game.

“We had a good match and all the players were very focused. Marcelo? It’s not only him, we’re all ready for Tuesday.

“Kroos and Modric? I don’t know, they haven’t entered the squad so we’ll see. I can’t say anything.

“What I want is for them to travel with us and that they train with everyone on Monday. We’ll all travel and then you’ll see my team on Tuesday.

“Worried about Modric and Kroos? I’ve never complained about injuries. Everyone knows their importance and what they’ve done for us, but we’re going to focus on Tuesday and see if they make it.

“Over the crisis? You must be calm when things get ugly and not get too carried away when things go well.

“Ronaldo’s form? He’ll be happy because he’s enjoying a good run of form and we must take advantage of it.

“Atmosphere in Paris? We’re used to it. What we have to do is play our match, without thinking [PSG’s fans] will bring heat.

“We’re going to be very focused and we’ll have our fans there to keep us calm. First game in France as a Coach? It’ll be good, although I’m preparing for it like any other.

“It’ll be a very complicated game and we’ll have to work hard in order to win the match.

“We can’t do anything about the injuries, but we did very well against Getafe. Now we have to think about Tuesday and apply even more intensity, but we’re ready for PSG.”
