Simeone ‘not thinking’ about Juve

Diego Simeone has affirmed that Atletico Madrid are 'not thinking' about Tuesday's crunch Champions League meeting with Juventus.

The Spanish champions face Elche in La Liga on Saturday and the Coach insists his side only have eyes for the job at hand, despite their Group A decider in Turin next week looming large.

"It's good for the team to play [against Elche]," he told assembled journalists at a Press conference.

"At least they have the rest of the night to rest and prepare in the best way ahead of an important game on Tuesday.

"We're not thinking about Tuesday. We're focusing all our strength towards having a good game against Elche."

"I always say that football is about opportunities," he added.

Simeone then revealed that Guilherme Siqueira would start against Los Franjiverdes following Cristian Ansaldi's injury and commented on the fan violence which erupted outside Vicente Calderon last week.

"Siqueira is working well, although in some specific situations he perhaps did not have the luck needed to make the right decisions, but hopefully he does well in these kind of games," he continued.

"He is important for the team in an attacking sense, and hopefully he continues to grow defensively. We trust him, so hopefully he meets the level we expect from him.

"We must all leave the work to the people who have to make decisions. We'll have to wait to see what situations are conveyed to us, so we're clear about what could happen.

"We must try to help to make football better for everyone."
