Michel demands Sevilla win

Michel has called upon his Sevilla players to go into each game for the win, starting with this weekend’s derby with Real Betis.

Sevilla host Betis in the first Seville derby of the season four points and seven places behind their rivals and on a poor run of recent form.

“Tomorrow the team has to give everything, come to the fore. When we do not hesitate we become more recognisable. If we speculate we become a vulgar team,” commented the Coach at today’s Press conference.

“If Betis are relaxed for the game, I will be happy. Tomorrow, we cannot disappoint the fans.

“Betis know what sort of team we are and in general in Betis, if you listen to their statements, they have the conditions in which to win.

“We go all out because we need it, and also even if we do not need it. It has nothing to do with either motivation or the sporting level, but the essence of the club. We cannot speculate.”

Michel hit out at his players last weekend for the manner of their performance away to Athletic Bilbao, particularly for the first half display.

“Then I was a touch loose with what I said to the players, because with them I cannot hide the truth. They are like my children.

“We cannot go out as we did in the first half against Athletic. In the second, not to mention the tactics, the team changed.

“Sevilla should not be a team to come and play, we must come into each game to win. I will not be satisfied with the players until that is in their heads.”
