Del Bosque: Three important points

Vicente del Bosque admits that Spain struggled to break down Georgia’s ‘anticipated’ defensive set-up, but calls the three points earned ‘important’.

La Roja relied on a late Roberto Soldado goal to defeat Temuri Ketsbaia’s team at the Boris Paichadze Stadium on Tuesday evening in a game that they otherwise struggled to create chances in.

“They were shut tight in defence,” reflected Del Bosque afterwards.

“We imagined the scenario for the match, it was as anticipated, but we lacked a bit in the final third ourselves.

“These are three important points. If we had drawn then we would have taken a step backwards.”
