WATCH: Kylian Mbappe strikes first El Clasico blow as Real Madrid lead against Barcelona

Real Madrid and Barcelona are facing off in the first El Clasico meeting of the season, and it is the home side that have taken the lead early on at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Barcelona have been living very dangerously in the opening minutes, with Real Madrid having had a goal and penalty ruled out by VAR. But on 22 minutes, they have now been breached, and it is Kylian Mbappe that has broken the deadlock.

It is a simply outrageous through ball from Jude Bellingham, and Mbappe – who was denied the opener minutes before via a tight offside call – was behind the last Barcelona defender on this occasion, and he made no mistake to score his sixth El Clasico goal.

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso demanded more from Mbappe in the lead-up to this match, and so far, he is getting it. As things stand, his side are going five points clear at the top of La Liga.
