Barcelona have had a difficult international break in terms of injuries, with several players having been affected. Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres all withdrew from the Spain squad, and now each of their diagnoses is known.
Dani Olmo ruled out until November
Barcelona are confident of Lamine Yamal being available against Girona this weekend, but they will not be able to count on Olmo. As per an official medical report, the Catalans have confirmed that the midfielder “has injured the soleus in his left leg, with no damage to connective tissue”. As per MD, he is expected to miss 2-3 weeks, which would mean that he is unavailable for El Clasico in 12 days’ time.

Olmo went into the international break with muscle discomfort, but rather than returning to Barcelona, the Spanish national team’s medical staff were monitoring his progress during the training camp. He had been getting better, but on Friday, it was revealed that he had suffered a small relapse, which led to him withdrawing from the squad ahead of matches against Georgia and Bulgaria.
Barcelona receive better news with Ferran Torres
Earlier in the week, it was also confirmed that Ferran had been forced to withdraw from the Spain squad with his own physical problems. Barcelona have since confirmed that he “has an overload in the hamstring muscles of his left leg, with no associated injury”. As such, MD say that he should be available to face Girona on Sunday, which is much-needed good news for the Catalans.
Olmo’s absence is a blow, albeit less than usual considering his poor form in recent weeks – couple with the fact that Fermin Lopez is returning from his own injury. As for Ferran, Hansi Flick will be thankful to count on him, although he may still be rested for the Girona match, with a view to El Clasico the following weekend.

Good morning My lovely Barcelona team I want my dearest team to be strong and wins all this matches against Girona, olompicos and el-classco up barca from live
Boo Hoo.
Injuries defined our previous season… at one stage Raul Ascencio was just a few games in and holding the defence together. The esteemed decision makers saw it fit to not get replacements to expedite the arrival of Alonso. Our forward line also suffered from Mbappe’s introduction. I don’t remember this level of excuse building.
Come the hour, whoever carries the badge is the representative.
Barca had a grand old time in our time of chaos. The clock hand will turn full circle at some point.
I didn’t read any excuses in the article (all it is is a report of who’s injured at the moment), and Barca aren’t making any. On the contrary; I don’t expect you to follow Barca closely, but I can tell you that the club aren’t making excuses. They’re pissed that De la Fuente is making the stars play when they’re fatigued and injured, but I’d imagine Madrid would have a problem with that also if it were happening to them. There’s still depth. The biggest issue right now is defensive intensity from the front line and coordination at the back when playing the high line. Sorry, but nobody’s panicking and nobody’s making excuses.
Another moronic comment from the usual dolt.
Obsession is bad for you. Take care of your mental health, or what’s left of it.
Pointing out the obvious isn’t obsession. This is my second time I ever write to you, are you feeling ok there chump?
Writing dung here like a obsessive disordered maniac is.
Therefore a simple conclusion is that you are projecting, you absolute idiot.
You’ve responded to two separate posts of mine with insults and no substance whatsoever. You’re obviously reading what I write and it bothers you to the point that you’re nearly incoherent.
So yeah, you’re obsessed.
Save the response, I won’t read it.
No you deserve a response, just to trigger you further.
Nothing of what you write bothers me.
Your posts have zero substance whatsover, you are just rating. Find a job instead of ranting here, McDonalds is employing right now. By your sheer stupidity I assume you are a fat American.
I’m willing to work for them if they can employ me
