On Saturday, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone confirmed that two more signings would be joining his squad before the end of the summer transfer window. Clement Lenglet is one, with a season-long loan deal agreed with Barcelona, while the second is believed to be a new backup goalkeeper – needed after Horatiu Moldovan’s move to Sassuolo.
According to Marca, Juan Musso has emerged as a leading candidate to be the new understudy to Jan Oblak. The 30-year-old currently holds a backup position at Atalanta, so a different challenge could be an incentive for him. Walter Benitez also remains a target, but he’s more difficult to sign as PSV Eindhoven will not let him leave cheaply.
Matteo Moretto has confirmed the report about Musso, also stating that Atalanta expect to receive a loan offer from Atleti in the coming hours.

Musso would be an experienced addition, and Atletico Madrid would rightly see this as a low risk signing. It remains to be seen whether they can secure an agreement with Atalanta before next week’s transfer deadline.
