Barcelona and Girona negotiating third deal of the summer

For the second successive summer, Barcelona and Girona have been involved in multiple deals. In 2023, Eric Garcia and Pablo Torre went to Montilivi, with Oriol Romeu going in the opposite direction. And this summer, all three players have gone back to where they were, with Pau Victor also heading to the Estadi Olimpic (he was on loan at Barca Atletic last season).

Victor’s signing for Barcelona and Romeu’s loan back to Girona are the two deals to have been completed so far between the two Catalan clubs, and a third is about to drop. Cadena SER’s Nil Sola has reported that an agreement is close to take Oscar Urena to Barca Atletic.

Urena, who appeared for Girona during their 4-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Friday, is a 21-year-old attacker. He’s rejected offers from the Segunda, where he was on loan at Leganes last season, to sign for Barca Atletic.

A deal should be finalised next week. Barcelona will hope that Urena can follow in the footsteps of Victor, who’s managed to assert himself as a first team player over the course of pre-season.
