Real Madrid plan staggered season start for Jude Bellingham

Real Madrid will tread carefully with Jude Bellingham in the opening weeks of the 2024/25 La Liga season.

Bellingham enjoyed a sensational first season in the Spanish capital as Los Blancos secured a La Liga and UEFA Champions League double.

19 league goals saw him named as La Liga player of the year ahead of reaching the final of Euro 2024 final with England last month.

However, despite the huge overall positivity on Bellingham’s role in Madrid, injuries and fatigue were clear concerns in the second half of the campaign.

His level at Euro 2024 was below his own high standards and Real Madrid are acutely aware of his need to recover fully ahead of the 2024/25 season.

As per reports from Diario AS, Bellingham is working on a tailored plan, with the club’s medical staff confident he can start in the UEFA Super Cup final against Atalanta on August 14.

That could then be followed by a staggered amount of league action until September with Real Madrid hopeful the 21-year-old will be rested for England’s UEFA Nations League games next month.
