Real Madrid could now sign leading target this summer as club changes transfer stance

Real Madrid have been tracking Alphonso Davies for a long time, and although they are very interested in signing him, it’s seemed more likely that they would be holding off a move for the Bayern Munich defender until next summer, when he is set to become a free agent.

Los Blancos have been unwilling to match Bayern’s asking price for Davies, and recently, the Bundesliga giants had altered their stance anyway – they were set to keep him for next season, thus opening the door to the possibility of him leaving for free in 2025. However, this has now been changed again.

Diario AS say that Bayern will now consider selling Davies before the end of the summer transfer window. If he does not sign the contract offer that has recently been presented to him, club bosses will put him on the market, with the intention of selling to the highest bidder.

Bayern’s asking price for Davies throughout this summer had been €50m, but that could be about to change. Real Madrid would require it to be significant reduced if they were to make a deal happen now, and if it did, it would also consign Fran Garcia to being sold – Ferland Mendy will be staying no matter what.
