Barcelona reject €20m offer from Lazio for young forward with €40m asking price

Given that Barcelona are targeting at least one big-money signing this summer, it’s expected that they will also be required to make a significant sale. Right now, the most likely to depart is Vitor Roque, with the teenage forward – who only joined in January – no longer having the confidence from the club’s sporting department.

As per Sport, Barcelona are willing to sell Roque for a minimum price of €40m – approximately €9m more than they paid Athletico Paranaense for his services (€31m). Lazio recently offered €20m for 50% of the Brazilian international’s rights, but their proposal was turned down by those at Can Barca.

Barcelona have hoping to receive better offers soon. They expect one from Al Hilal, who would be willing to match their demands, although Roque has little intention of joining the Saudi Arabian champions this summer.

Roque’s situation has been a very dark episode for Barcelona. It’s one they are seemingly keen to move on from quickly, although the player himself is unlikely to make it easy – as he will only leave on his terms.
