Juventus join Barcelona, Real Madrid and Villarreal in pursuit of 20-year-old midfield gem

Celta Vigo’s academy has earned the right to be regarded as one of the best in Spain these days, and certainly La Liga’s giants are well aware. The latest off the conveyor belt, Fer Lopez, has also attracted the curious eyes of Juventus.

Earlier in the year it was reported that Barcelona had enquired about the 20-year-old creative midfielder, who impressed for Celta Fortuna last season, scoring seven times in their promotion push. Real Madrid and Villarreal are also following him closely.

Now Relevo are reporting that Juventus are seriously considering making a move to sign Lopez.  He has just a year left on his deal, and Celta are confident that they can get a new contract over the line, with former B-team manager Claudio Giraldez a figure of trust now at the senior side. That could aid them to convince Lopez that he will get the chances that they want.

After Brais Mendez and Gabri Veiga, Celta will be hoping that Lopez is the next technically gifted creative force in behind the frontline. With three assists to go with his goalscoring, he averaged a goal contribution every 140 minutes in his first campaign playing senior football.
