Should Spain defeat Georgia in their RO16 fixture on Sunday night, they will set up a blockbuster quarter-final showdown against Euro 2024 hosts Germany. Julian Nagelsmann’s side defeated Denmark 2-0 on Saturday, with Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger producing a man of the match performance.

Rudiger was a colossus for the Germans, although there is a chance that he misses their quarter-final against Spain/Georgia. As reported by MD, he was seen limping in the mixed zone post-match, which places him as a slight doubt for the last eight, with that game kicking off in five days’ time.
Rudiger had been nursing a slight muscle problem going into the match against Denmark, so it could be that he suffered a flare-up. For now, no details are known about this latest injury issue.
It would be a massive blow for Germany to be without Rudiger, but equally, it would boost either Spain or Georgia, whoever progresses from their round of 16 clash on Sunday night.
