Mikel Merino

Barcelona yet to open talks to sign La Liga midfielder despite strong interest

On Wednesday, it was reported that Barcelona consider Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino to be a priority target for the summer transfer window. The 27-year-old is highly-regarded by new manager Hansi Flick, and when he begins work next week, a deal could be started upon by the club’s sporting department.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Barcelona, and especially sporting director Deco, have a strong interest in Merino, although for now, Barcelona’s interest is only that. As per MD, no discussions have taken place with La Real nor Merino’s representatives.

Currently, the only talks taking place involving Merino are with La Real, who are very keen to tie him down to a new contract, as his existing deal expires at the end of next season. If no agreement can be reached, it opens the door for Barcelona to get their man, likely at a cut-price arrangement.

Merino would be a top signing for Barcelona, especially if they can acquire him cheaply. He’d perfectly suit Flick’s 4-2-3-1 system, although it won’t be easy to get out of Real Sociedad, even if a new contract cannot be agreed upon.

Why beggarIona failing ANOTHER transfer? Whoda thunk. Well Id never!

Someone better tell the diIdolona management that transfers work diametrically opposite – youre supposed to have SUCCESS rate on your transfers, not miss every single one. This is akin to presidents who promise his voters double salary if he gets elected, gets elected then says just kidding – but thanks for 4 more years.

The absolute mongs at diIdolona shouldnt be tolerating laPorka, but then again, just goes to show how easily manipulated putzes they are.

So, what does this tell you? Same roster upcoming year, RM better. Do the trophy math, cataIani🪳l vermin, PAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
