Atletico Madrid are predicted to have a very busy summer transfer window, with head coach Diego Simeone keen for his squad to be overhauled before the start of the 2024-25 season. One of the area that will be targeted is midfielder, with a pivot on the shopping list.
Guido Rodriguez would be a low-cost option for Atleti, and he is now available after his agreement with Barcelona expired, leaving him free to negotiate with other clubs. A more dream option is Feyenoord’s Mats Wieffer, who will be available on the market during the summer.
According to Matteo Moretto, Atleti are in the race to sign Wieffer, although they are trailing other clubs that have also registered their interest in the Dutch international.

Wieffer would be a top addition for Atletico Madrid, and at 24, he would further add to the young core that is being developed by Simeone. However, their financial woes could end up making it difficult to compete with the rest of the competition.
