Real Betis eyeing up summer move for Real Madrid striker

Real Betis are aiming to sign a new striker in the summer, amid the expected departures of Borja Iglesias and Willian Jose. Manuel Pellegrini wants a different profile to existing options Cedric Bakambu and Chimy Avila, and one of their options has now been revealed.

According to Marca, Betis hold an interest in Juanmi Latasa. The 23-year-old Real Madrid man will return in the summer after a two-year loan spell at Getafe, where he scored seven goals in 57 matches. Los Blancos are yet to decide what to do with him, but the likelihood is that a departure – either another loan or permanent – will be the option taken.

Latasa’s goal return was not ideal at the Coliseum, although Real Betis would not be too concerned about this. They believe that he can kick on after two years of experience in La Liga. For now, it remains to be seen how Real Madrid would approach negotiations, but considering Latasa’s contract ends in 2025, they will surely be rather open to any terms offered.
