Luis de la Fuente: Spain will fear no one at Euro 2024

Spain boss Luis de la Fuente is confident his squad can go all the way to glory at Euro 2024.

The La Roja head coach will confirm his provisional squad on May 27 ahead of the tournament kick off next month.

Spain have been placed in a tough group, alongside holders Italy, veteran campaigners Croatia and tournament debutants Albania, in Group B.

After winning a European title in 2008 and 2012, Spain have struggled on the continental stage, with a quarter final spot in 2016 and semi final exit at Euro 2020.

De la Fuente is keen to put his team on the front foot in Germany and he sees no reason why they should not be amongst the favourites to win it.

“Spain would be first, in terms of my favourite, number one. That’s my view”, as per an interview with Movistar+.

“We are not inferior to anyone, we are in contention.

“Obviously who doesn’t rate England, Portugal and France? But they are different from us.

“Maybe we don’t have as many individual stars – but we have very good players – we’re stronger as a team. I think we’re very dangerous for anyone to face”

De la Fuente will gather his squad for a meet up at the end of May in Madrid, with Real Madrid players exempt due to their involvement in the UEFA Champions League final, ahead of friendlies against Andorra and Northern Ireland.
