Barcelona squad desperate for disappointing season to end as quickly as possible

Following a string of three defeats in four against Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Girona, Barcelona’s season has gone to a complete bust. All they can do now is fight for second place in La Liga, which would secure a place in next season’s Spanish Super Cup, thus bringing in much-needed funds.

However, this isn’t much of a motivating factor for Xavi Hernandez’s squad. According to Sport, they are struggling to maintain motivation levels in these last weeks of the season, with some desperate for the campaign to end as soon as possible.

This would suggest that the Barcelona players are not up for the fight over second place with Girona, despite the fact that they can regain the position if they defeat Real Sociedad on Monday night.

If anything summed up Barcelona’s disappointing season, it’s this. The squad’s mentality has been very poor, and until it changes, they may find it very difficult to break out of this slump that they’ve experienced over much of the last 6-8 months.

  1. Barcelona fans are most likely wishing Franco could raise from his grave and bail them out from bankruptcy again.

    1. Are we talking about Franco the Madrid favouring dictator than cripled Barca and catolonia in favour Madrid?

      1. Hello illiterate idiot.
