Liverpool striker linked with La Liga move cleans out Instagram account leaving no trace of Reds

Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez has deleted all traces of Liverpool from his Instagram account, amid rumours that the Uruguayan could depart Anfield this summer.

The 24-year-old forward has had a mixed spell in the Premier League since joining the club, and Jurgen Klopp was his main advocate, but is now departing in the summer. The arrival of Arne Slot has brought with it uncertainty over the number nine’s future.

Reports in England have linked Nunez with a move to Barcelona, with the Blaugrana potentially looking to move on from Robert Lewandowski this summer. In the meantime, Nunez has deleted photos of him in a Liverpool shirt on his account, a classic sign of discontent from athletes when they want to make their unhappiness public, without having hteir words thrown back at them.

Nevertheless, there are some major ifs and buts standing between a move to Barcelona and Nunez. None larger than Lewandowski himself, who still has a year left on his deal, and has declared publicly on several occasions that he wants to stay at the club. Thereafter, Barcelona would have to find a financial package that would be agreeable to Liverpool.
