Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool watching situation of Real Madrid forward closely

Real Madrid are set for an interesting summer ahead of the potential arrival of Kylian Mbappe, with the Paris Saint-Germain forward likely to cause a reshuffle in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans with his side. Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes is at the centre of those discussions.

If Mbappe does play his football at the Santiago Bernabeu, it could have an impact on the futures of Arda Guler, Toni Kroos and Rodrygo, depending on how Ancelotti wants to set up. In particular with Rodrygo, he has been single out as the player most likely to lose his place to Mbappe, as a result of his inconsistent form and chequered record in front of goal.

As per Sport, Premier League giants Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal are all keeping a close eye on Rodrygo’s situation. While Real Madrid’s stance is that he is ‘untransferable’, that could change should the player decide he wants to leave, although this is a prerequisite that looks some way off currently.

Rodrygo has recently signed a contract renewal until 2028, and has mentioned that he would be delighted were Mbappe to arrive. It seems much more likely that at the very least, the 23-year-old will see how the coming season plays out for him in terms of game time and importance to the team, at which point things could perhaps change. There are still two months of the season left, and no doubt a run of goals and important performances will quieten talk that he could be the odd one out of their stars.
