French wonderkid wanted by Real Madrid believes Spanish capital is a ‘wonderful destination’ – Fabrizio Romano

Real Madrid have been given a boost in their hunt for a long-term successor to the likes of Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba, as the pair age towards the twilight of their careers. Arguably the most sought-after young defender in the world, Leny Yoro thinks Real Madrid would be a good move.

Yoro, 18, has caught the eye of many this season, and is set be one of the top targets this summer, possessing a combination of pace, power and technique unusual in central defenders. Aletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested, with the Lille man out of contract in 2025. That makes Lille far more likely to sell this summer.

Los Blancos are also interested in him, and while it is not yet clear whether they will move for him in the summer, Fabrizio Romano says that Real Madrid have been interested since October. The Italian transfer journalist also told Caught Offside that Yoro believes the Santiago Bernabeu would be a ‘wonderful destination’.

With Nacho, Fernandez, Rudiger and Alaba all ageing into their thirties, it is no surprise that Real Madrid are thinking about a succession plan. As was the case with Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga, who Real Madrid moved for due to their exceptional talent rather than a pressing need. Depending on the asking price, Yoro could be the next young star to head south.
