Erling Haaland suffers injury concern three weeks out from Real Madrid-Manchester City showdown

Real Madrid’s showdown with Manchester City is undoubtedly the pick of the quarter-final ties in the Champions League. The two European heavyweights have faced off on several occasions over the last few years, and one of them will be dumped out of the competition at a very early stage this time around.

Erling Haaland, arguably the best goalscorer in the world for the last 18-24 months, could be a big determining factor for Man City during the tie, although he has appeared to pick up some sort of injury during training with Norway. He was pictured struggling after taking a shot, and he couldn’t continue the session.

It’s not clear at this stage how serious the issue is, but from a Real Madrid perspective, they will be holding that it is bad enough to keep him out of their Champions League tie – although it looks somewhat unlikely that this will be the case. The first leg takes place at the Santiago Bernabeu in three weeks’ time, with the return leg in Manchester just seven days later.
