(WATCH) Joao Felix gives Barcelona half time lead at Atletico Madrid

Barcelona have a key La Liga lead at half time in their clash at Atletico Madrid thanks to Joao Felix.

Felix has found himself at the centre of attention once again, as Barcelona take on Atletico Madrid, after scoring the winner in a 1-0 victory in December.

Atletico Madrid fans burnt a home shirt with Felix’s name on the back ahead of kick off and he made the vital breakthrough before the interval.

With very few chances on offer for either team at the Estadio Metropolitano, the visitors showed coolness in front of goal, as Felix slotted home against his parent club.

Another goal against them will only deepen the animosity of the Atletico Madrid fans towards the Portugal international, but he is happy to play the pantomime villain.

Barcelona’s task has been made harder for the second period, with Xavi Hernandez sent off, and the former Spanish international will now be forced to watch on from the stands in the Spanish capital.

Victory for Barcelona would lift them back into second place in the table with Atletico Madrid remaining in fifth as it stands.
