Barcelona central defender Ronald Araujo is one of their fan favourites, and has been the heart of their backline for the last few years, but he might be on his way out of the club in the summer.
Araujo has become the object of Bayern Munich’s desires, and the Blaugrana turned down two offers for him in January, as the central defender did not deny contact with the Bavarian club. They are expected to come back with a fresh offer in the summer.

As per RAC1, despite reports to the contrary, internally Barcelona are unsure whether he wants to continue next season. In addition to those doubts, Barcelona desperately need a major sale this summer, and the Uruguayan could be worth €100m to the Catalan side. Equally, Jules Kounde is another candidate to leave, although he would bring in less, and Barcelona still have a chunk of his transfer fee to pay off too.
If Araujo does leave it will be the second major star that Barcelona have been forced to say farewell to as a result of their financial woes, with Lionel Messi being the first three years ago. Since, they have not had to make too major sacrifices in terms of their star players, but Araujo may be the bills finally coming back to bite Barcelona since the great Argentine departed.
