Barcelona interested in 20-year-old Colombian forward

Barcelona are always on the hunt for the next big thing, but the demands for their recruitment of the next generation to be accurate have risen given their inability to pay large transfer fees currently. Nevertheless, if they do get to sign Watford’s Yaser Asprilla, he won’t come cheap.

The 20-year-old Colombian forward has been in impressive form in the Championship in England, scoring six times and giving five assists –  as well as making a name for himself for scoring brilliant goals. That’s an average of just better than one every two games over the 1,821 minutes he has to his name.

Asprilla is capable of playing across the front three, and is in his second season in London, having made the move from Envigado, his first club in Colombia, two years ago. Sport say Barcelona are interested in him.

It does seem improbable that Barcelona would end up with him, unless Sporting Director believes he is a bona fide difference maker at the top level. Watford will be in a position to demand a high fee for him, and the Blaugrana cannot afford to gamble what little spending power they have on players they are less than certain about.
