Atletico Madrid had a satisfying evening against Feyenoord on Tuesday, securing a 3-1 win and with it, qualification for the knockout stages, having missed out last year. It was also a particularly sweet evening for Angel Correa.
Correa was sent on for the final six minutes of the game, which took him level with Diego Godin for appearances on 389. It makes the foreign player with the second-most appearances for Atletico Madrid, after Jan Oblak, who has 410.

It goes to show just how long Correa has been around, equalling a legend in Godin, despite never being a starter during his eight years at the club. The 28-year-old has amassed 72 goals and given 58 assists during that time, as per Diario AS.
One of Diego Simeone’s most loyal servants, Correa is now the 12th all-time appearance-maker for Los Rojiblancos. While he was at one stage close to a move to Milan, Correa is has the affection of Atletico fans, having scored one of their key goals in securing the 2021 La Liga title.
