Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham to win Golden Boy award, ends Barcelona streak

Jude Bellingham has had an incredible start to his Real Madrid career, with undoubtedly his greatest moment so far coming during Saturday’s Clasico victory over Barcelona, in which he scored both goals in a 2-1 victory for Los Blancos at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

That made it 13 goals in 13 appearances for Real Madrid, and the good news appears to be carrying on for the 20-year-old Englishman, with Diario AS reporting that he will be announced as the winner of the 2023 Golden Boy award, which will be presented next month.

It comes after his impressive Borussia Dortmund displays were added to by his outstanding start at Real Madrid. He has beaten out the likes of Jamal Musiala and Barcelona duo Alejandro Balde and Lamine Yamal in order to secure the prestigious award.

Bellingham’s pick-up ended a spell of “dominance” for Barcelona in the Golden Boy award. Pedri and Gavi have won it in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but there will be no three-peat for the Catalans on this occasion.
