Real Madrid star player to be out for two months after suffering foot injury during Clasico victory

Real Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Barcelona on Saturday was a brilliant occasion for the club, but there has now been a dampener on that as one of their key players has been revealed to have suffered an injury during proceedings at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

In an official statement, Real Madrid have reported that Aurelien Tchouameni suffered a foot injury during the match, for which further tests will be carried out in order to determine the severity.

“After the tests carried out on our player Aurelien Tchouameni by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an incomplete stress fracture in the second metatarsal of the left foot.”

Journalist Arancha Rodriguez has reported that the injury looks set to rule the Frenchman out for the next two months, which would be a major blow for Real Madrid.

Tchouameni has been in excellent form for Real Madrid this season, and his absence will certainly be felt by Carlo Ancelotti and his coaching staff. However, it does present opportunities for the likes of Luka Modric and Eduardo Camavinga to command a regular starting place in the meantime.
