AC Milan to sign Real Betis star in January, Barcelona in line to receive sell-on as a result

Juan Miranda’s future at Real Betis has been the subject of speculation for the last few months. His current deal expires at the end of the season, meaning he can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in less than two months.

Multiple clubs are said to be apprised of the situation, with AC Milan currently leading the race to sign Miranda. They want to sign him in January, rather than waiting to get him on a free next summer, and according to reports in Italy (via Sport), they will do just that.

Betis still hope to renew Miranda’s contract, but it is looking increasingly unlikely. They may well choose to cash in during the winter transfer window so as to make some money back.

This would be good news for Barcelona, as they have a 40% sell-on clause for Miranda, whom they sold to Real Betis on a permanent basis back in 2021. They would take a significant share of the transfer fee, which would go towards improving their own financial situation.
