Spanish Football Federation director denies coercing Jenni Hermoso in aftermath of Luis Rubiales kiss

The investigation into alleged sexual assault and coercion by former Spanish Football Federation President Luis Rubiales has been continuing this week, with the latest person to take the stand being Albert Luque, who is Sporting Director of the Spanish men’s team.

As per Relevo, Luque spoke as part of the investigation on Tuesday, but only answered the questions of his lawyers – rejecting any further inquiries from other lawyers and the Prosecutor’s Office.

During his questioning, Luque stated that he did not coerce Hermoso in the aftermath of the Women’s World Cup final in August, which is when Rubiales kissed the La Roja star without her consent. He stated that he learned of a few of the Spain squad being in Ibiza at the same time as him, and he wanted to speak to Hermoso purely as a friend.

The investigation is expected to rumble on for some time. Luis de la Fuente, who is head coach of the Spanish men’s side, is one of the people due to speak as part of the investigation in the neat future.
