Alarm bells ring at Real Madrid as key midfielder leaves training early ahead of El Clasico

Real Madrid are without Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao long-term, while Arda Guler and Dani Ceballos are also nursing injuries currently. Just five days ahead of El Clasico, Los Blancos have suffered a major injury scare however.

Los Blancos are in Portugal to take on Braga in their third Champions League fixture this season, and trained ahead of their Tuesday evening slot on Monday night. Yet French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga did not finish their training session, with two medical staff accompanying him to the dressing room.

He had his hand on his right leg, but it is not yet clear whether it is a muscle problem or an impact issue. Aurelien Tchouameni also exited training early, but is not thought to be injured, say Marca.

With their tie against Barcelona so close, it would be normal for Real Madrid to take all precautions, and it may be a minor issue, but until there is confirmation, Madridistas will be waiting nervously for updates.

Real Madrid do at least have options in midfield. Toni Kroos, Fede Valverde and Tchouameni started against Sevilla at the weekend, and seem most likely to ocuppy the three midfield positions, while Luka Modric will also be in contention.
