Aston Villa to hold off on move for Joao Felix until later this summer

Joao Felix is facing a very uncertain future at Atletico Madrid. Having been sent out on loan to Chelsea in January, the Portuguese still does not enter Diego Simeone’s plans ahead of the new season.

As such, Atletico will look to move Felix on this summer, either permanently or on another loan. At present, there isn’t significant interest in his services, with Aston Villa being the only side showing any sort of real interest.

However, Ruben Uria has now reported that Villa will not make a move for Felix in the near future. Instead, if they do decide to pursue a deal for the 23-year-old, it will be towards the end of the summer transfer window, providing they have additional funds available.

Currently, Villa have been put off by Atletico Madrid’s demands, so it appears likely that Los Colchoneros will have to lower these in order to see Felix leave the club this summer. At this stage, he will be remaining in the Spanish capital.
