Kylian Mbappe’s future at Paris Saint-Germain has been the subject of intense speculation over the last few weeks, following confirmation from the 24-year-old that he intends to leave the French champions as a free agent this summer.
PSG do not want this to happen under any circumstances, and they will look to sell their prized asset this summer if he does not extend his contract. Given their past and present interest, Real Madrid will be one of the favourites to sign the Frenchman.
If Mbappe does leave this summer, PSG have identified Ousmane Dembele, his international teammate, as their preferred replacement, according to Footmercato (via MD).
Barcelona do not have any interest in selling Dembele this summer, although they could be powerless to stop a transfer from happening as the 26-year-old, who is in the final year of his contract, has a €50m release clause.
Barcelona are currently working on a renewal for Dembele, although they could be racing against the clock to secure his long-term future.
