Barcelona and Real Madrid set to battle it out to sign Liverpool forward this summer

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid could look to add forward reinforcements this summer, as they look to prepare their respective squads for next season.

Barcelona definitely want to sign a striker, someone that has play backup to Robert Lewandowski, while Real Madrid may look to do the same for Karim Benzema, who has struggled with injury issues this season.

Both clubs would be happy to do this without spending a penny in transfer fees, which would make Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino a very viable option. The Brazilian is out of contract at the end of the season, and he has already announced his intention to leave.

While Daily Mail have stated that Firmino will join Barcelona in the summer, MD have reported that both El Clasico rivals are interested in signing Firmino, who would bring an abundance of experience to whomever he joins.

Barcelona could turn to Firmino if they cannot secure either Vitor Roque or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang due to financial concerns, while Real Madrid may see a deal as an excellent opportunity to strengthen their forward line at a low cost.
