Fabrizio Romano hints at one Barcelona exit and one addition as salary limit set to bite

It is no secret that Barcelona’s recruitment strategy this summer will be heavily handicapped by the La Liga salary limit, as the Blaugrana try to find ways of improving the squad while making cuts. However Italian transfer Guru Fabrizio Romano still expects them to make signings this summer, in spite of their financial woes.

The Blaugrana have several major areas for improvement this summer, including right-back and left-wing, although Romano has revealed to Caught Offside that it will all depend on what money is available.

“Barcelona are working on fixing their current financial difficulties. Financial Fair Play will be crucial for them to understand how much they can spend.”

Those comments were made to on his Daily Substack Column, where he hinted at one incoming name and another potential outgoing.

“They will work also on the outgoings, for sure; also to complete potential new signings like Inigo Martinez.”

“Jordi Alba was already available on the market one year ago but Barca didn’t find the right solution.”

The Basque defender is thought to be close to a deal with Barcelona, with his contract expiring at the end of the season. Xavi Hernandez wants a left-footed central defensive option, with only Marcos Alonso available to fill in currently.

Meanwhile Alba has insisted that he wants to remain at the club, but his large wages may force Barcelona into action. His future may also hinge on that of Lionel Messi, with the Argentine’s potential return being worked on by Barcelona.
