‘The best in the world’ – Carlo Ancelotti singles out player for praise following Real Madrid-Liverpool

Real Madrid are synonymous with world stars and have the current Ballon d’Or winner amongst their ranks in Karim Benzema. According to Carlo Ancelotti, they also have the best player in the world playing alongside him.

Los Blancos cruised through to the Champions League quarter-finals with their 1-0 victory over Liverpool, taking them through 6-2 on aggregate. Across those matches Karim Benzema managed three of them, while Vinicius Junior was responsible for two of his own, and assisted two of Benzema’s strikes.

After the match, Ancelotti was asked about the Brazilian, and his praise could hardly have been higher. Marca carried his comments.

“For me he is the best in the world. Today he did not score but he gave an assist.”

There is little doubt these days that the driving force behind Real Madrid’s attack. Vinicius has 19 goals and 10 assists across his 40 Real Madrid games, the most goal contributions of any player in white this season. However beyond the numbers, it is Vinicius whom his teammates look to in moments of need.
