Jude Bellingham tells Borussia Dortmund teammates he wants to play for Real Madrid

Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham is the envy of almost every team in Europe, and he wants to play for Real Madrid. The 19-year-old midfielder looks set to leave German football this summer, despite Dortmund’s attempts to keep him, and will have his pick of Europe’s top teams.

The majority of reporting has Real Madrid competing with Liverpool and Manchester City for Bellingham’s signature. According to Santi Aouna, Bellingham has told his Dortmund teammates in confidence that some day he wants to wear the white of Real Madrid.

Part of the reason for that is that Zinedine Zidane is his idol, and he would like to follow in his footsteps. According to Aouna, Bellingham’s father met with Real Madrid recruitment chief Juni Calafat in London at the Royal Harbour Hotel ahead of Dortmund’s Champions League tie with Chelsea, as was reported earlier this week.

Bellingham’s father was also invited to sit in the same box as Zinedine Zidane for the Champions League final last summer, as Los Blancos edged Liverpool 1-0 in the final.

This is by no means decisive, but it does work heavily in Real Madrid’s favour, as they try to bring in the England international. If Zidane is committed to helping them do so, that will only aid Florentino Perez and Calafat in their task.
